Club Grants

  • Coos Bay Downtown Association Bike Rack Project: This project assisted the CBDA and the City of Coos Bay with the placement of Bike Racks downtown. The project includes four-different sites where the “running leg” art/bike racks will be placed. The city lacks locations to lock up bicycles in the downtown corridor. The added benefit of the project (and what this grant assisted with) was the fabrication of the racks at Marshfield High School’s welding class. It was invaluable to the program that provides direct skills to young people. They will now see the work and art they manufactured throughout the city.
  • Operation Rebuild Hope: Bryan’s Home funding. This has been an ongoing project that the club has supported from providing the very first donation when ORH started the project. That donation was in the amount of $10-thousand dollars. ORH is a non-profit (501c3) that provides assistance to Homeless Veterans including the refurbishment of Brian’s Home that will house and help homeless veterans get to services and housing that will help them off the streets.
  • Oregon Coast Community Action-The club has provided funding to assist ORCCA with its CASA program. This is an advocacy program that provides an advocate to represent children in court. The Club also donates to the South Coast Food Share through food collection and the Bus Jam Toy and Food Drive. The result is 60 to 100-thousand pounds of food that is distributed each year through food banks throughout Coos County.
  • Nancy Devereaux Center-This grant helped fund sleeping bags and tents during the winter to many who are unhoused in the Coos County area. The Nancy Devereux Center provides a variety of services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness. They are a non-profit that relies on donations to provide those services including hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and assistance to medical appointments and other government services. They work with the City of Coos Bay Homeward Bound program and Coos County Mental Health Services.
  • Coos Bay and North Bend School District (Year-round)-Scholarships, ADA access to new south grandstands at Marshfield High School, American Legion Boys and Girls State, Miscellaneous projects at North Bend High School.
